DCAF Ljubljana is a permanent regional office of the DCAF - Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance, based in Ljubljana at Brnčičeva ulica 5, Slovenia since 2008. It was established with the signing of the Cooperation and Partnership Agreement between the DCAF - Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (now: DCAF - Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance) and the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Slovenia on 21 February 2008.
DCAF is an international foundation, established in 2000 at the initiative of the Swiss Government and active in the assisting of the international community in pursuing good governance and reform of the security sector. DCAF’s Foundation Council comprises 63 member states, the Canton of Geneva, and six permanent observers. Operational in more than 70 countries, DCAF is internationally recognized as a leading world centre of excellence for Security Sector Governance (SSG) and Security Sector Reform (SSR).
